Ivy is a writer. Excerpts of her work may appear — do not be alarmed.

After six months in Scotland and a year in Ireland, she now lives in Cardiff, Wales [oh, the weather]. A MacDowell and Hawthornden Fellow, she received grants from the Australia Council for the Arts and Academi to write poems towards her second book.

Ivy contributes words to dumbfoundry. She edited We Don't Stop Here and A Slice of Cherry Pie, and co-edited qarrtsiluni's Insecta issue. Mortal is her first book of poems.

The sticking point I found with doing NaPoWriMo was that I needed to keep myself triggered to write new poems everyday. So this year, I'm going to be ready. It won't be my downfall! I'ma gathering my prompts and triggers so that I have a few to choose from:

Steve Schroeder's contest has generated a few ideas in the comments stream for new poems.
This list of 100 is for visual artists but I think can also be useful for poems.
The archives are ripe for the picking. Raid those prompts! Plunder that booty. No, the other booty. Added: looks like they've added a daily prompt especially for April. Woohoo!

qarrtsiluni's call for ekphrasis poems, responding to their gallery of images [deadline 15 April].
There's the random A Word A Day.
And the slangy Urban Dictionary, which I see now has word of the day, too. Mm, fruity.
